Donations Update - end of 2013

This year has been an adventure. I am still stunned that the Doggie Drawings Facebook page has jumped from 17K to over 27K LIKES in less than 1 month! I hope this means good things for 2014! :)

As promised, I donate a percentage of my pet portrait earnings to rescue groups and here are the groups that I am donating to for the second half of 2013:

Remember, when you order a Doggie Drawing, please feel free to nominate a rescue group!  I have updated the grand total amount on the top left side of this webpage.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Have a Happy New Year, everyone!

New iPhone app - DOG DECODER!

Over a year ago in 2012, I was approached by Jill Breitner (dog trainer) & Jeff Bellsey (tech developer) to create illustrations of dog poses for a new and exciting IPHONE APP that teaches people how to read dog body language/signals.

Photos of some poses:

I did 60 illustrations for this unique iPhone app, which stars Jill’s dog DIAMOND in a variety of contexts - with other dogs and with humans. There is also a QUIZ to test your dog-reading skills.

November 2013 - I am pleased to announce that the DOG DECODER app is finally completed and now available at the iTunes app store!

Here is the link to buy and download this app:
Only $3.99!

More information on the Dog Decoder website:

Thank you in advance for your support (yes, every download supports the artist) and please don’t forget to WRITE A REVIEW and/or RATE the app at the iTunes store, and SHARE! :)

My drawings on UK television? - the ongoing story.

*UPDATED 12-11-2013*

Good news and relief. My attorney and I have received a response letter from the Posh Pawn production company - Boomerang Pictures - that images of my artwork will be removed from the show. In conjunction with the Channel 4 legal department they are taking steps to deal with Lori Thompson.  (She has not responded to their messages so far)

I have removed all Posh Pawn video links and screenshots at the request of Boomerang’s legal department.

Recently I was alerted to a UK reality tv show on Channel 4, called “Posh Pawn” -which you can view here on YouTube.  If you are outside the USA, this video might be blocked from you, so here is a copy on Vimeo. *VIDEOS REMOVED*

Go to the 18 minute mark. Watch this segment.

A Doggie Drawings client had emailed me this video and when I first saw this, I was in shock, as you can imagine. Did the producers of Posh Pawn grab artwork off the internet and neglected to get my permission to use these drawings on their show? Why is there bling and someone else’s signature on my drawings? Was this artist and her “thriving pet portrait business” an actor?

Thanks to my Facebook friends and supporters, I have since learned that LORI THOMPSON has been selling these dog canvasses to pet boutiques and galleries in London for several months now since February 2013.

She has a facebook page - ‘Diamondogs’ (from which I have  been blocked… ) and it is full of bedazzled copies my drawings with her signature on them. *FACEBOOK HAS NOW REMOVED ALL THESE IMAGES.

Screenshots from the Diamondogs Facebook:

Here is my original Hana & Minky drawing.

In Lori Thompson’s facebook photo album - all my drawings with stuff added to the collars and Lori’s signature….

And a status update about commissioning artwork from Diamondogs:

Here is an example of a London shop selling Lori Thompson’s copies of my artwork. I had written to the shop and not received a reply.

I am in the process of further investigations and communications with an attorney.

1. I am trying to track down retailers of these copied drawings. If you have any information and see any of my artwork in stores or markets (signed “Lori”) please notify the seller nicely that this is stolen artwork (resellers of stolen artwork are subject to Secondary Copyright Infringement charges) and/or please report the issue or let me know so that I can contact them directly.

2. If you have ordered artwork from Lori Thompson and are a victim of fraud, I am really sorry. PLEASE REPORT THIS. I have received messages from a few of her customers who had transferred money into her bank account and have not received any goods or heard from her since!

3. Please use social media (Facebook, Twitter, your blog) to spread the word about this fraudulent artist/business so that nobody else is ripped-off or supports her business.

I appreciate your direct support - please consider commissioning custom artwork from me or buy some Boogie artwork. I also offer free dog behavior illustrations and would be extremely grateful for a Paypal donation on this page

Thank you to everyone who has reshared this post and/or chipped in towards my legal fees. I appreciate your help more than you know.

Thank you for all your support!

The World’s Most Dangerous Foods For Dogs

The idea for this poster came to me when Nathan (my not-a-dog-person-boyfriend) on more than one occasion, tried to feed grapes and raisins to my dog, Boogie. Luckily, Boogie is a picky eater and spat these out, but I imagine that many people may not be aware that there are human foods which can cause illness and death in dogs (depending on proportion and the individual dog).

It was a pleasure to collaborate with the talented Natalia Martinez of Design Lab Creative Studio on this poster. Nat was responsible for the fabulous layout design. Thank you also to 's Dr. Jessica Vogelsang (veterinarian) whose blog post about this illustration is a must-read: “The World’s Most Adorable Degenerate Produce

This poster is FREE to download, print and share.
